The Holidays have been so much fun, Kyra was a butterfly and Eeyore for Halloween, and Than we had thanksgiving with our neighbor the Anderson's it was a great time!! Now Christmas is around the corner and the fun has already started for us!! But more about that later!!

Love thine self before others can love you

              Upon having a rough day the other day, I was thinking about how true it really is that you can't rely on others to provide your happiness you have to go out and find it yourselves. This being said you also can't expect others to love you until you love yourself, and if you aren't happy you aren't truly in love with your self (in a non big headed cocky way). Just over all know that you are loved if by no one else you are loved by yourself. And if you work on finding the little things in your life that make you happy you will only be happier everyday!! Pinterest crafts

          So as most of you know and are fairly familiar with Pinterest has become an addiction that many women around the world can't seem to tear themselves from. This site has things from crafts, to recipes, to cleaning tricks and beyond. There really is something for anyone who cares to look. I tend to find myself on this site more often than even Facebook anymore. Although a lot of the time I tend to just pin and pin and pin and never get the ambition to do any of the crafts there are a couple I have tried...

           The first one was the cleaning chart. Although I don't have a picture of this, it is pretty simple to describe. Basically it is a schedule of things to do each day to keep your house clean. The tasks may seem like such mundane things but done daily you can really keep a tidy home. It also includes a daily task to help pick up the slack around the edges. I have this posted on the pin board in the Kitchen and it really has helped to keep the mess down a bit. Tho I probably should admit I am not and never have been a very organized person. (this i fear I will pass on to my children) So keeping my house clean takes much more than merely sweeping and wiping counters lol. So Sunday's I still tend to find myself doing most the cleaning.

           The second craft that I attempted was Kyra's door sign. Posted all over this site is the suggestion that if you buy either a canvas or a mirror all you need is a little paint and stickers to make this master piece. The basic Directions were to 1. Pick quote, word, or shapes you would like to have on your piece. 2. place these stickers appropriately and than paint over them. 3. Once the paint dries all you have to do is peel off the stickers and VOILA you have a beautiful new sign. It seems really simple and in a way should be. But the problem I encountered was my stickers must not have been sticky enough because unfortunately the paint bled under them a bit and made what should be sharp stars into messy blobs. Which caused more work as I sat with Nail polish remover and q tips trying to regain their shape. Also writing her name was far from working it too bled but was not fixable, and so I had to write it by hand and it certainly didn't turn out as pretty as I was hoping it would. But over all I love the design I made and the effect of the reflective mirror in contrast to the matte pink really is pretty!

And finally the most recent craft I have done from Pinterest is the Menu board!!! It was such a pretty idea, and will be so helpful once I get all the recipe cards written out!!! (haha I should be working on that vs, blogging) But anyways, It was a major up-cycle project that was just as easy as it looked. The originals were done on wood or metal but being craft....well maybe CHEAP haha I chose to use the lid of a pizza box. I did change the clothes pins to giant paper clips as it was all I had on hand. And it will work just the same. Here is my final project (semi final I should say)

What do you think of this one?

Well with the coming month finally be December I am very eager to start doing more and more things with Christmas :) It has always been my favorite Holiday and now that I have a baby to share all the exciting things that the holiday's bring I want it to be even more special!! So I think I will be doing a daily blog with Christmas activities, crafts, recipes, or just simply pictures of what is going on around our house!! You can only imagine the exciting fun things you will be seeing!!  I hope maybe I'll be able to get more people interested in ready my blog...Maybe a new year resolution? Organize the blog? Hmmm....would be cool to have more people interested in what I say :) Any suggestions or thoughts on the crafts I did, and or things to do in the future are encouraged!!!

Happy Halloween!!!

Well this is our first Halloween in Germany, and Kyra's first EVER!! It has been pretty uneventful so far aside from a party or two this weekend. But as for today I dressed Kyra up for pictures for you all to see her costume, but since its pretty cold outside she is going to be wearing her Eeyore costume for trick or treating and we are only gonna go to the like 8 houses on our block plenty for year one. Than my neighbor Cristina and I will sit out front and hand out candy to kids until we run out :) Sounds like a fun evening it only last 2 hours so it should be good.

But here is a few pictures of Kyra in her costume, and our carved pumpkins!!!


And for an update on what we have been up to the only real exciting thing we have done this month is we went and experienced picking apples from an orchard on a perfect fall day!! Kyra had a good time and has been devour them :) Here are a few pictures from that trip also.

 

And just to make this post even more random I shall post another super easy recipe!!! Sorry this is about how organized I am in every aspect of my life lol. My mind goes in like 500 directions at a time.

3 Ingredient Brownies

1 cup Nutella

10 tbsps flour

2 eggs

Mix together and pour into 6 cupcakes, or into a small square pan. Bake at 350 for 30 mins.

Things I Could Do Without:  I miss you sleeping 8-12 hours a night IDK where those days went. Apparently going on a long trip like that followed by jet lag, a growth spurt, a cold, and now teething could be part of it. I think after your second tooth gets in we may go back to normal.

This last month has brought so many changes to Kyra's life and man did it happen fast, my little girl who just last month was immobile and played with her toys is now going anywhere she pleases, and is not far from doing it on only 2 legs no doubt.

Ich Liebe Germany

I am so excited because it is fall time. I know to most people that isn't all that exciting but after spending the 3 last falls in Hawaii the state that doesn't really have seasons. So the little crispness in the air and the amazing colors that the trees are changing to are a great change for us!!! It actually feels like it is almost Halloween and holidays are around the corner!! Along with the beautiful weather comes beautiful pictures :)

I was honored to take pictures of my neighbors ADORABLE daughter Lilia!! She just turned one and was a great little model!!! I am no professional but had a great time working on my photo taking skills!! Although it was a bit chilly so we made it a quick photo-shoot!! Here are a couple of my favorites from the day!

 

She was a fantastic little model and I was glad to give her mommy some new pictures of her to print off!!! Hopefully the next time I go take pictures will be of their whole family!

Also in the spirit of the season we of course got Kyra's 6 month pictures taken and they are very much fall themed also!! Here are the ones we have gotten back so far!! Thanks so much to Ashley Berry who has been the worlds greatest photographer for us!!!

Today we got out went downtown and walked around but after not too long decided it was a bit chilly and we weren't exactly dressed appropriately and chose to go for a little drive before we headed home to clean. Here are a couple pictures from our day...

But I don't mind I am just so proud of her and her accomplishments!! And next without a doubt is gonna be pulling herself up to things. I give it a month before she has that one down!!

The Creature is moving.

             Well the day we have been waiting for has arrived!! It took longer than expected but she decided she was ready and off she went! We even had to rearrange the living room to make cords less accessible to her. And what everyone says about them going mobile as far as they will go for what they shouldn't is so true. It's like all that time when she was laying on the floor looking around she was scoping out all the things in the room that she isn't allowed to play with and goes straight for them as soon as she could. But really it's not a big deal since I am always in the room with her when she is free on the floor. And she can't really crawl on the wood yet it is too slick for beginners so she is kinda trapped on her own on the rug in the living room for now. Although I am sure that too won't last. And we will find new area's that need to be baby proofed but until than I will just enjoy her new found skill!!!
